When I was a resident we used rectal Brevital. Unfortunately rectal propofol never panned out. When I saw the title I was thinking of 8 percent sevo by mask making a vein pop up.
I remember using rectal chloral hydrate for short eye procedures on little children, not sure if it's still used?

When I was a resident in the late nineties. It's actually a very effective and safe sedation method for young children requiring eye exams.never heard of this before. what era was this?
