Hi All,

I hope everyone is having a good semester. I am in the process of entering my fourth year of studies at Skidmore College in upstate NY. I will begin my process of preparing for medical school, but because of limitations associated with my grades, and being inadequately prepared to even consider taking the MCAT, I am considering enrollment in a post-bacc. program. Through several recommendation, namely, the forums at studentdoctor.net, I desire to matriculate at Hunter College. However, I would be willing to consider other institutions, should they be one's I should based on my grades. I should mention that I would prefer a "traditional" post-bacc program, rather than picking and choosing classes at a local university. Cost really is not a major concern; ultimately gaining admission to a medical school is.

Frankly, however, I have the faintest idea where to start. There are varying amounts of information on the 'net and on this website. This forum is certainly a great help, but still, I'd like the assistance of a current student, or better-yet alumni, to help navigate me into a program (Hunter or otherwise), and hopefully coach me through, once I am accepted.

At the outset, it is worth mentioning that I am a neuroscience major at aforementioned school, I have a cumulative GPA of 2.8, with about the same in my major. If these qualifications are not on par with those needed to enroll at Hunter or elsewhere, then please let me know without proceeding any farther.

If I do meet minimum qualifications, then I am willing to handsomely compensate a student, alumni, or other professional to help me in my application process, and hopefully advise me on deadlines, classes to take, etc. Basically, you would serve as a personal "Career coach," to ultimately lead me to my goal of being accepted at a medical school.

If this meets with your approval, please submit an email to me at ckkane @ aol.com. Please add the word "hunter" or "post bacc" similar in the subject line so I may distinguish your email (important) from solicitations for viagra or to minimize my debt (unimportant). As far as compensation goes, of course it would depend largely on your time committment and help you can provide. I can, however, assure you that it will be upwards of $250.00. In your email response, please identify school you are at, year, and if you're willing to share, the avg GPA you had when entering. I'd like to find someone that was in a similar position as me when considering career/school options.

Kind regards,
Craig
