Hi SDN experts,

Thanks for taking your time to read this post. I recently received a rejection and asked for feedbacks. To my surprise, the admission officer (who is super nice) did reply to me and wrote the following.

"The decision on all of our applicants utilizes a holistic approach, so there may not be any specific deficiency. Furthermore, the other factor that comes into play every year is the overall quality of the applicant pool, such that you are competing against many other individuals for very few positions."

I am wondering if there is any information I can actually interprete from it, other than "we receive too many application and can't offer everyone". From " there may not be any specific deficiency", does that mean my app was actually free of red flags? Or I am over-thinking about it way too much, and it was just a courtesy email to say "yeah we can't tell you why".
