The first school is like $293 or something and each school after that is $93. Just round it to $300 and $100 so 27 x 100 is 2700 and add 300 so you should be looking at $3,000. This does not count for supplementary fees. Each school ranges from $50 to $100. Pretend you get $100 supplemental fee for each school and add another $2700 (but more like $1000-2000) to that and your total should be around $5,000.

Nice. So $4,000-5,000 which is what I anticipated. Not too bad. I wanted to stay in that range or hovering around it after sitting this cycle out altogether in favor of only taking one shot next summer. Thanks for your reply!

Although I am not applying this year, just spending 5k on application seems so ridiculous to me. Do universities make as much as banks? Sadly it is the price I have to pay to be a dentist. Oh well, down goes my car (at least half of it)

I applied to 10 schools. I think this was too many. I received interview invites at five, interviewed at four, and was ultimately accepted by all four. Save the money and apply to schools that are a good fit--five would have been enough.

I really understand what you guys are saying. I do. However, I did not apply last cycle because I knew I wouldn't get any interviews. I didn't apply this cycle because I chose to wait until AFTER I complete my SMP. I've skipped two cycles in a row to put myself in an ideal position during the first time I apply. I'm 24 years old, and will be 25 at the time I apply. I can't take chances here. I need an acceptance. I'm getting older and older, and already projecting entering dental school at 26. I've been in school for going on 7 years after completion of this SMP. Sure it might be $4,000-5,000, but at this point $4,000-5,000 > waiting around another year. ~$5,000 is my limit though.
