Does anyone know what the average attending pay is? I’m Considering doing part time at a dental school or residency program.

If you're looking at a public school individual salaries are available online to see. Usually not that much if you're part time.

I’ve seen anywhere from low 100s to mid 200s for attending salaries. Varies on GP and which specialities.

Not sure about part time though

Varies significantly based on a number of factors one of them being the specialty, full time vs part-time, your actual position (professor vs associate vs assistant), etc. But in the OMFS world, with some outliers here and there, between 300k to 500k is the typical range.

Also adding that it depends on school and location. When I was full time, I knew of other schools that paid specialists less than me as a GP at my school. Part-time attendings barely get anything generally across the board I believe.

Some faculty members have higher salary if they can bring big NIH grants. They can do this because NIH pays large portion of faculty salary.

One interesting thing about OMS is it seems like most of the staff surgeons "work" or actively practice. I have noticed that the other specialties, and staff general dentists, tend to not see their own patients and just supervise. Why is this?
