How long does it take before the state board notifies a healthcare professional of a received complaint from a third party?

I know there are a lot of variables and not all state board complaints against healthcare professionals have merit. However, as it pertains to issues associated with potential misconduct, how long does it typically take before the Massachusetts (or other) state board notifies the healthcare professional of a pending investigation upon receipt of a complaint from a third party? Does anyone have an inclination?
