Currently considering the following schools:

  • colorado
  • UConn
  • Upittsburg
  • new york upstate
  • rutgers
  • toledo?
  • tufts?
  • tulane
  • arizona?
Wondering if I am eligible for any texas schools for personal/familial reasons.
Also open to DO schools, thoughts?

Any feedback helps, thanks!
Arizona favors in-state and WICHE, regardless of what they say on the site even now. I think you should do your LizzyM. Add Minnesota, UConn, and Washington as they have histories of admitting Canadians.

Good improvement!

How many hours was this?
- 2 years as waiting room attendant/staff support in emergency department (200 hrs)
What exactly did you do for this?

Thank you.

To date i’ve spent ~1500hrs in the hospital as a porter.

My role as an ER volunteer was mostly limited to acting as a mediator between the ER waiting room and nursing/admin staff in the ER. I helped to greet ambulatory patients and visitors, assist with registering for the triage progess, connect visitors with patients, and keep an eye on patients in the waiting room for the triage nursing staff. Most of my time was spent talking to patients and providing reassurance, blankets, etc.
That's a good amount of hours. Do you think you got what you needed out of these experiences to know you want to be a doctor?
