how hard it it for FMGs to get a position that allows part-time research?

hi, i am just curious how difficult it is to get a faculty position as a researcher at a medical school or hospital (while also seeing patients)? assume that someone who wants this position would work their tail off and do well on the steps. i want to go into neurology and do some neuro research as well, and was wondering what kinda hurdles i will go through. i should be going to st. george's in the fall and i plan on doing as much research as possible.
