How do I take that practice NBME?

Some have talked about practice tests that the NBME offers. I know about the free cd/released items, but how do I take that practice NBME? I went to the site and it looks like I have to go to a prometrics center to take the practice test. Is that true? Is it worth taking?

You can purchase these tests from the NBME website, self-assessment services section. You do NOT have to take these tests at a Prometric center.

Thank you so much for the reply. Do you know if the test can be taken more than one time? Probably not.

Actually, I see it. You can only take the exam(s) once for each $45 paid.

I think the test actually CAN be taken more than once, so long as you're willing to fork over the $45 each time you take it. There are three total exams, so your best bet would be taking multiple tests one time each, vs taking the same test multiple times.
