I'm a PGY-1 at UW now. There are 27 spots per year; of my current classmates, I think about half are thinking fellowship and about half some form of primary care. Madison is a pretty liberal (for the midwest), laidback kind of city, and generally speaking the personality of the administration/attendings reflect this, so this gets reflected in who gets ranked here.
UW doesn't have the same sort of name recognition that places like U of Chicago, Northwestern, WashU or Michigan have, but I don't regret for a minute ranking UW ahead of them and coming here. If you have more specific questions, feel free to message me.
