I am a 3rd year medical student interested in Child neurology. I have been looking into programs on line but have no clue to how competitive these residencies are. Also, I was researching the child neurology residencies through the ACGME website and found some programs to be "accredited with warning". Does anyone know what this might mean? Don't go there? Not enough peds cases? My last and final question...do you know if it would be more beneficial for my residency chances to do an externship in neurology, pediatrics, or pediatric neurology and my prospective residency? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
