Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with rheumatological conditions, including physical examination, medical history review, and diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and develop treatment plans for patients with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, osteoarthritis, and other autoimmune disorders.
- Work collaboratively with other medical professionals, including primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of disease activity.
- Prescribe and manage medications and other treatment modalities, such as physical therapy or joint injections, to improve patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of a Rheumatology fellowship.
- Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology.
- Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of South Carolina.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other medical professionals.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
