Hey all,

Does anyone have experience searching for a public health position in Chicago, particularly in epidemiology, international health, or non-profit?

As a recent MD/MPH grad taking one year off prior to residency, I have been looking for a position in Chicago to gain some practical experience in public health.

In addition to Emory's public health connection (listed in sticky above), I have found http://www.craigslist.com to be one of the better sites to look for newly available positions. I have also been regularly checking:

http://www.medzilla.com/
http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/
http://www.epidemiologistjobs.com/
http://www.idph.state.il.us/home.htm
http://classifieds.chicagoreader.com/chicago/Results?section=oid:3&
http://www.monster.com
http://www.careerbuilder.com
http://www.opportunitynocs.org/jobseekerx/
http://www.uic.edu/sph/research_traineeships.htm

If anyone has other sites to suggest (that have nationwide postings, or preferably more specific to Chicago) it would be very much appreciated.

Check out the website for the American Medical Association. You might want to try their website - www.ama-assn.org. They have a very large public health group with MDs, MPHs, PhDs. Ethics also has several MD/MPHs if that floats your boat). Otherwise, I bet UIC has a job-posting site. You could call their job placement office.
