Hi,

High compliance or capacitance → low PWV → reflected waves interact with the exiting from heart waves during diastole → low pulse pressure, low cardiac work and good perfusion of coronary arteries.

Can someone explain why the perfusion of coronary arteries gets better in high compliance states and lower in low compliance states?

Low compliance → high PWV → reflected waves interact with the exiting from heart waves during systole → high pulse pressure (due to increased systole due to the increased afterload), high cardiac work due to increased afterload and poor perfusion of coronary vessels.

go visit the Faculty at your SOM. You would benefit greatly from interacting with them, develop rapport, network and gain understanding in the medical concepts you seek clarification

just a thought
Upcoming school exam in 1 week. I need dem answers quick.
