Heptitis B Vaccination

Hi, I was notified that I need to get Hep B vaccine before registering. However, I have plans to go abroad and the vaccination maybe interrupted. Can someone who had it or anyone tell me how this vaccination (in series I presume) works? For how long, how many shots are needed, etc.

This is what I was told when I started mine:

First dose: at an elected date
Second dose: 1 month after first dose
Third dose: 6 months after first dose (it must be at least 6 months after the first dose--if longer, it is okay, but not sooner).

Then I think you need a blood titer to confirm immunity thirty days after the third dose. If immunity is not confirmed, then you need a booster shot and another blood titer to confirm immunity.

I think this is correct.
