I'm starting school this August and by chance have the opportunity to scrub in and watch surgeries with my friend's dad. Anyways, I obviously don't have any books, but was wondering if anyone had suggestions for websites that I can read up on to get a little background on the surgeries. I'm seeing total hip replacement, a couple of shoulder/knee scopes, etc. I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance!

At your level, you should be learning anatomy. Look at Netter's Anatomy before your cases. That ought to suffice.

If you are uber-ambitious, you can look at Surgical Exposures in Orthopaedics: The Anatomic Approach by Stanley Hoppenfeld. This is one of the books that all the residents use (among others).

Hope this helps,
