any help is appreciated!!! thanks in advance

1. A long straight wire carries a current of 50.0 A.
a. What is the force on an electron traveling parallel to the wire, in the opposite
direction to the current, at a speed of 2.50x106 m/s when it is 0.100 m from the
wire? Draw a diagram and clearly show all field and force directions.
b. Find the force on the electron under the above circumstances when it is traveling
perpendicular to the wire.

2. A cyclotron uses a magnetic field of 0.750 T to accelerate singly ionized lithium ions. It
has a maximum radius of 0.600 m.
a. Derive an expression for the frequency of the alternating voltage on the dees of
the cyclotron.
b. What is the frequency of the voltage?
c. What is the maximum kinetic energy of the ions as they emerge from the
instrument?
d. What is the equivalent accelerating voltage?
mass of ion 11.62x10-27 kg electronic charge 1.602x10-19 C

3. An AC circuit consists of a 75.0 S resistor, 0.250 H inductor, and a 6.00 :F capacitor,
connected in series across an voltage source of 200. rms volts at a frequency of 85.0 Hz.
Determine:
a. the impedance of the circuit,
b. the current in the circuit,
c. the phase angle and state which leads, current or voltage,
d. the power factor,
e. the power lost by the resistor,
f. the series resonant frequency,
g. the current at series resonance, and
h. the power lost at resonance.

4. A flexible circular loop of 10 turns lies in the plane of the paper. The radius of the loop is
0.150 m. The magnetic field is 0.250 T directed into the paper. The area of the loop is
reduced to zero in 0.125 s. Determine the magnitude of the average induced emf in the
loop at that time.
