Can one of you list a couple atlases that have, in your opinion, excellent detail of CT and/or MR anatomy of the head and neck?

Thanks.

There is unfortunately not too many good atlases in Head and Neck Radiology. The following is a sampling.

MRI of Head & Neck Anatomy by Yuh et al. (Churchill Livingstone) is overpriced.
Pocket Atlas of Head and Neck MRI Anatomy by Lufkin (Lippincott) is not detailed enough.

Atlas of Neuroradiologic Embryology, Anatomy, and Variants by Jinkins (Lippincott) is a great book but its scope maybe more than you need although I highly recommend this text.

Head and Neck Imaging by Som et al. (2 vol just published 4th ed Mosby) is the best textbook on the subject hands down.

Head and Neck Radiology - A Teaching File by Mancuso et al. (Lippincott) is great if you like the case study approach.
Case Review: Head and Neck Imaging by Yousem (Williams and Wilkins) for same reason as above.

Differential Diagnosis in Head and Neck Imaging: A Systematic Approach by Vogl (Thieme) is quite useful as you progress in your training.

PocketRadiologist Head and Neck Top 100 Diagnoses by Harnsberger (Amirsys) Hardcopy and PDA versions are handy quick reference.
Handbook of Head and Neck Imaging also by Harnsberger (Mosby) paperback, inexpensive and very useful. Just diagrams, no actual radiographs.

Recommendation for book buying:
Walmart.com - consistently cheaper than anybody else
mysimon.com - compares several online bookseller prices
loginbookstore - get on their periodic email listing of new titles
ecampus.com - good discount, mostly free shipping

if u are starting off..
just check out the CT and MR atlases by "theime. publiucations"..very basic stuff
