I interviewed at a school last week and felt confident about how it went. However, the next day, I started having second thoughts about my interview. I was having doubts about the answers I gave and if my interviewers liked me or not. Is this normal?
And also has anyone interviewed, felt confident about it, but got rejected?

Yeah. That happen to me as well. I went to my interview and felt like I did well but than got rejected . That was back in 2016 ... I did interview these year and felt like it went well but after experience the past experience I don't really get excited. I will be excited once I get the acceptance. With the interview u just never know .. good luck .

Agreed with the above. You never know.

I am writing this as I prepare for another day at the school where I was sure that I failed my interview. It was just an off day for me and I was sure I'd be getting a rejection or silent one, especially when I heard from my interview peers about how great their interviews went and how they were connecting with their interviewing faculty.

Dec. 1 surprised me when they accepted me.

And also has anyone interviewed, felt confident about it, but got rejected?

This happened to one of my friends (different school). Interviewer told him "We'd love to see you here next year and you'd make a great fit." Rejected.

Lol this is me after every single one. Leave the school w/ my head held high and feeling super confident... Then the next few days I over analyze it and can't sleep over some of the answers I gave. I'm sure this is pretty normal though.

Yeah, I have been feeling that way. You won't know until Dec 3. From what the schools said, they consider your interviewer feedback along with the rest of your application when they make final decisions, so apparently your stats and all that don't go out the window just because you got an interview invite. That may be why some people who interviewed well still get rejected, and why some people who only interviewed so-so get accepted.

Hey guys, does it look bad to mention in the interviews future specialty plans?

I think it is fine to say "I think a certain specialty seems cool and would like to explore it further while in dental school", but avoid any hard "I intend on going into a certain specialty" statement. It's great if you want to be a specialist, but it doesn't work out for everybody. If you make such a firm statement, schools may worry that you won't be happy in dentistry if the specialty path were to not work out for you.
