Are the following schools typically difficult to get into for out-of-state residents?

University of Iowa
University of Washington
Oregon Health Sciences University
University of California, San Diego

More specifically, does can anyone rank them in terms of

a. Difficulty of getting in if you're not a resident of the state.

b. Hardest to get into in terms of numbers (residency aside).

I know there are various sources out there but I haven't found anything useful.

this sounds like fun since my answer is based only on my thoughts or conception of the schools.

a. UW, UCSD, Iowa, OHSU (they are all pretty tough for non residents...the gaps between them are small I would think)

b. UW, UCSD, OHSU, Iowa (check that link optimist gave for this one, I'm just taking a guess)

keep in mind that the University of San Diego does not have a medical school. The medical school is a part of the University of California at San Diego. USD and UCSD are two distinct schools.

Just goes to show you how much I know about West Coast schools.

I agree w/Jlee's ranking. UW states pretty overtly that unless they have some outstanding quality (dad is a medal of honor winner, etc.) out-of-staters will not be considered for admission. Unless of course they are residents of one of the five states.
