Graduating in November 2016

Does anybody know if it is possible to (1) graduate with a deferred exam on your transcript to a course that does not count towards your degree requirements or (2) to apply to dental school this June (2016) while graduating in November (2016), looking for admission in September 2017?

Of course you can apply to dental school if you're projected to graduate the year before you'd matriculate.
