Does anybody know if the field of gastroenterology pa is growing? I was recently on a website that stated 200 pa's are currently practicing in this specialty. That number is considerably small when compared to others. Why is it so small? Are they not as needed in that specialty as in others? Any information about this pa specialty will be greatly appreciated, I am very interested in it. Thank you.

No offense, but not that many people want to do sigs and colonoscopies all day long. that tends to be the role of the average gi pa.

certainly a good point.

TOCO-of potential interest..
there is a new ad in this months physician assistant magazine for a gi pa to run the hep c program at dartmouth hitchcock medical center.
