The Brigham Gastroenterology Board Review Course major objective is to prepare the participant for the ABIM Subspecialty Board Examination in Gastroenterology (Certification/Re-Certification). Experienced faculty present their expertise in 43 topics ranging 15 to 50 minutes in length.

This self-study activity conveys state-of-the-art information on a wide spectrum of clinical problems that reflect the curriculum in gastroenterology for the ABIM examination. It is comprised of an in-depth examination of essential knowledge in gastroenterology, hepatology, and the integral related areas of pathology, endoscopy, nutrition, and radiology. The pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of disorders of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, small/large bowel, pancreas, and liver are also addressed.

Many outstanding clinicians and teachers were selected as program faculty. This activity consists of lectures and board review sessions. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of physiological principles to the understanding and management of clinical problems in this Gastroenterology Board Review.

This program should be most valuable for those preparing for certification or re-certification in gastroenterology. The target audience also includes physicians who want a refresher course that covers all major aspects of the field of gastroenterology, internists and hospitalists interested in gastroenterology, who want an exposure to the entire field, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are specializing in gastroenterology, and surgeons who practice in the area.
