Hi guys, I'm sorry if this has been asked before.
I am a U.S. grad and I had trouble with Step 1 so had to take extra time for that so I didn't apply for the match my 4th year and will be applying the following year.
When I talked to my dean about it and she seemed pretty okay with me taking the gap year after 4th year than between 3rd and 4th year. Now that I'm at a point of no return, I'm hearing things on the web like I really should have taken the gap year between 3rd and 4th instead. But I can't do much about that now.
Any tips on how best to spend that time to strengthen my application and match successfully?
I am applying to psychiatry and considering family medicine as well.
I don't think I will take up more loans for another degree. I will probably be like 300K in debt when I get out.
Please be nice! Thank you!
