About the Neighborhood: Prospect Lefferts Gardens is a historic district on the eastern border of Prospect Park, across from Park Slope and adjacent to Crown Heights. The community is largely defined by a longtime Caribbean population, that in past years has made way for an ethnically diverse mix of neighbors and independently owned shops (Record City, Les Blooms, Ix, Risbo, Silver Rice). The area provides an abundance of tree lined streets, authentic Caribbean cuisine, and landmarked brick townhomes only 20 minutes from Manhattan by subway. Prospect Park is a 5 minute walk away. Nearest subway: B/Q/S Prospect Park, 2/5 Sterling Street. See also: Living In PLG, Brooklyn: Diverse, Historic & Convenient, New York Times (2017).
