I've read lots of mixed statements about how hard it is to match into Family Medicine in Canada as an IMG. Yes, I know there are way more applicants than spots available for IMGs, but I'm sure we have a leg-up as Canadian citizens against the majority of foreign citizens trying to apply.

I'm also wondering if I was able to secure an FM residency, would I be at any disadvantage when trying to apply for the Emergency Medicine specialization (CCFP-EM), or would I be treated equally against all other Canadian FM physicians?
