Fluorescein and conjunctival swabs

If I was working up a case where I needed to take conjunctival swabs, is there anything wrong with instilling fluorescein 15 or so minutes before taking the swab?

Interesting research. When I see an obvious ulcer and corneal infiltrate, I don't use fluorescein. I swab for cultures first.

In your case, if I have a purulent conjunctivitis, then I'll swab before I apply any stains.
