Financial Aid

Hey Guys!

I am currently filling out my financial aid application and it requires me to input my parent's information. I am currently an independent and don't rely on their income, would that affect my chances of financial aid or loans? For example, it asks for both my mother and father's information but they have been separated for a while and I am not in contact with my father anymore. I just find it odd that they require your parent's information even though I have been on my own for a while.

they don't require it but it helps because it qualifies you to receive the parent plus loan which you will not get if you don't include parents' info. I recommend only including mother's info since it will be difficult to get your dad's taxes.
