I will be attending pharmacy school this fall. I filled out my financial aid packet. How does fasfa correlate to what type of loan a person gets? I also have bad credit. How will that affect me?
Unless to have previously defaulted on a student loan, government loans do NOT look at your credit. If your school's cost of attendance is close to the maximum amount that a Pharm.D student can borrow, you'll be able to cover the entire cost through subsidized/unsubsidized loans.
It's made so everyone can go to school.
However, when you go into repayment, it will be reported to all three credit agencies.
this is a link with info on Stafford and Grad Plus loans. these are the two
most common loans. each one defines "bad credit". you may not have "bad credit" acording to their definition. i have so-so credit, but should be ok according to their definitions. good luck!
