I have heard that it's possible to choose a prelim list for each advanced program. For example:
1. Advanced A.
. 1. Prelim X
. 2. Prelim Z
. 3. Prelim Y
2. Advanced B.
. 1. Prelim Z
. 2. Prelim X
. 3. Prelim Y
And so on. However, this can become more complicated when a program offers both advanced and categorical (internship included) positions. My question is whether it's possible to convolute the process even further by ranking as follows:
1. Advanced A.
. 1. Prelim X
. 2. Prelim Z
. 3. Prelim Y
2. Categorical A.
3. Advanced A.
. 1. Prelim W
. 2. Prelim V
. 3. Prelim U
And so on. In this hypothetical example, I would rather do the preliminary year at Prelims X-Z than at the Advanced program. However, I would rather do it at the Advanced program than at Prelims W-U. I hope this makes some sense. Does anyone know if this is possible?
