for the hobbies and interests, did anyone put dates that they were in various clubs etc? or are dates unnecessary?

for important clubs that pertain to your field or in which you held leadership positions I would put dates
otherwise its irrelevant
and don't go crazy with undergrad or even high school stuff - no one really cares at this point what you did 5-6 years ago in student council
