Emailing FD to tell them you're #1?

Hi guys,

I'm in the cornea match, waiting for Dec 14! What is the protocol on me emailing the fellowship director of my #1 program and letting them know?

Can I do so? Will it help ya think?

No clue how much it helps, probably depends on the program. I think most people do it though. The big no-no is telling multiple programs they're your #1

I think that having your famous mentor call or email goes a bit farther than you doing it yourself. In the end I'm starting to see that the notoriety of your residency program and mentor seem to go a long way the more competitive the subspecialty....
