Hey all, I'm starting as an intern next week and am looking for some high-yield stuff to read over so I'm not totally useless on day one. In particular, I was thinking that a guide to approaching the most common chief complaints would be helpful; Googling "EM chief complaint" brings up a bunch of links to a textbook by that name, though, so I'm having a hard time finding free online resources. Anyone have any recommendations for something like this? Thanks in advance.

Pocket emergency medicine is decent for work ups of complaints. It’s small enough to carry around on shift

EMRA also has some pocket books that have common chief complaints and work ups.

You’ve got 3 years to learn. Take the next week to relax and not think about medicine.

Yeah, EMRA's is probably better and more up to date than the pocket guide. I rescind my previous recommendation
