Hey does anyone know for sure if DOs can or cannot practice in Mexico? Thanks!

KatieJune,

Here's the DO Mexico info. It seems difficult regardless of degree, unfortunately.

Mexico

Year of Last Request: 1993

Scope of Practice: previously denied

Previous AOA file information indicated that D.O. licensure could not be obtained in Mexico unless through the association of a short‑term mission project, such as the osteopathic physician group "DOCARE." No physician, D.O. or M.D., may practice in Mexico without working papers, which require completion of a five‑year residency and after which services are given on a limited basis and under the supervision of a Mexican M.D. However, correspondence received from the Health Ministry to a recent AOA request seems encouraging and it is hoped that, given the crucial need for medical care in Mexico, U.S.trained D.O.s will be permitted to practice. Political connections are extremely helpful but do not necessarily guarantee licensure.
