When a wave goes through a new medium, the wave is absorbed by the medium and then re-emitted-->the wave can loose energy. The new wave that is re-emitted has less energy, but does this effect the wavelength of the new wave?

Would love input!

When you change from one medium to another, the frequency is constant. The speed can increase or decrease (depending on the index of refraction).

If the speed increases, wavelength increases.
If the speed decreases, wavelength decreases.
