Every school/program has a different process... and it might change every few years. My MD/PhD program had typically a faster cycle, but we changed it this year in response to applicant feedback to a monthly interview process with invites ~4-6 weeks prior to each date. In prior years we would have extended about 2/3 invites as of today (giving the perception of faster feedback), as compared to only 1/2 in the present cycle. There is no substantial differences in between early or late interviewees in our past 2 cycles.
