Current flight doc with 5 years in, half way through my 4 year AD RB contract next Summer to be in the window for Palace Chase. A two year AD commitment turns into a a 6 year guard/reserve commitment as an officer. Does that qualify for the guard/reserve retention bonus payments of 30k a year as a flight doc? The normal guard RB contract is 3 years. Given its big blue Im guessing Id have to lose out on the RB money. If its a No Ill probably just palace front at the end but hoping to speed things up.

I am in my last year residency (anesthesia), finishing July 2012. Residency has been deferred. I am also deferred for my 1 year fellowship, which will finish July 2013. I then have 2 years of active duty payback to the Air Force. Has anyone heard of being able to convert those active duty...

Yea saw that thread, looks like dim hopes on past cases. Flight doc manning is crap right now, but hoping to find out about the admin contract side before I pester my assignments coordinator with the release question. Everyone I know is trying to jump ship given whats coming with DHA, but they are giving 6 year AD RB contracts now if you'd like to weather the storm.
