Interested in volunteering in India this summer?

Volunteer with Dil Se! The Dil Se Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit US-based NGO founded in 2006 that works to improve health education and primary healthcare access within rural communities in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. We are currently looking for pre-medical and medical student volunteers to be a part of our Primary Medical Outreach Program for summer 2013.

The program will take place towards the end of May and beginning of June 2013 (exact dates TBA) and will depend on the availability of selected applicants. Volunteers will observe and assist both Indian and American physicians in a wide range of areas, which in the past have included basic phlebotomy (blood draws, typing, hematocrits), EKGs, ultrasounds, blood sugar testing, and rapid HIV testing.

This is a unique opportunity to provide both pre-medical and medical student volunteers with firsthand experience in the practice of rural medicine and global health, and we hope you will join us for this amazing summer experience. Applications can be found online at http://dilsefoundation.org/new/application.html and are due March 15, 2013. Admissions are conducted on a rolling basis, so be sure to apply as early as possible!

Any questions about the application or the program can be directed to [email protected].
