Did anyone apply to more than one specialty?

I'm just curious is anyone applied to another specialty in addition to OB? If so, why? With OB/Gyn getting competitive again, I am wondering if it's worth it to apply to maybe a handful of FP programs?

I applied to OB and Pathology (back in 2003-2004) because I was having a difficult time deciding between the two fields. Ultimately I ended up ranking the OB programs above the Pathology ones (if my old ass memory serves me right).

I know several friends who did go with OB first and FP as back up. They all ended up in OB nonetheless.
