I was looking at the listserver at the Society for Hospitalist Medicine (http://www.hospitalmedicine.org). Two threads were posted this week about deceptive business practices by employers of hospitalists. The complaints included charging an excessive tail when leaving a group, hiring incompetent leadership, falsifying a no-compete clause, cancelling bonuses of people who raise concerns, and management spreading false rumors about people leaving their group.

Does anyone have experience working as a hospitalist? I was wondering if management problems like these are the exception or the rule?

Thanks.
