curriculum vs. textbooks

Hi...I will be starting med school this fall, and my school uses pbl.
We also do not have any specific books we use. How does this work? With traditional curriculum, you use pharm books in pharm, biochem books in biochem, etc. But since the curriculum is organ based (eg, cardio/resp/renal, etc), do we use all books in each module? Also what are some good books?
