Does anyone know how the demand is for critical care specialists/intensivists? And what kind of compensation they're getting?

The job market is pretty wide open, especially in the South and Midwest (I don't know much about the coasts). I have friends who are getting headhunter calls daily.

As far as compensation, most intensivists I know are at about 250-350. Of course, you will be making less than that to start. They do work their butts off, though.

I did a search for your question.

Found 158 jobs for Critical Care....and I found 14 of those with salary information. They averaged around 300-350 for someone experienced.
