Hey!

I was looking at the other posts and it seems like we are deciding between the same schools and are in a similar situation- do you have any idea how you're going to decide between SCO and UAB or what you're leaning more towards? I am having the hardest time deciding between the two and keep going back and forth haha so was just looking for input and trying to see what other people were thinking or how people in similar spots were going to decide

I was also in the same boat and just ended up choosing SCO this week! I think you really just have to go with your gut. You'll get the same degree at each school you just have to decide which one fits you best. It was a VERY hard decision for me as well.

They never said anything! I was offered an interview for the first date and they said I looked wonderful academically, so I don't think it was an issue! I also scored pretty high in QR and reading comprehension, so that might have helped?

Interview Invitation Extended for (school name): UIWRSO contacted me 11/13/14
Date Interview Scheduled: UIWRSO (11/21/14)
Accepted (indicate school attending): UIWRSO, since it all happened so quick I haven't turned in any supplemental for other schools so I guess my optometry school application journey ended here
Bachelor's Degree: B.S in Nutrition
OAT (AA, TS): 300,300
GPA(Overall, Science): 3.4, 3.1
Extracurriculars: Current optometric tech/office manager for almost 4 years (2000+ hours), volunteered at cancer hospital, shadowed 3rd year students at UHCO OD/MED clinic through POPS

So I put my rather average if not on the lower side of the GPA/OAT scale grades to encourage any intimidated lurkers (I was one for years) that optometry school is achievable, don't let stats of strangers from the internet discourage you, you can do it !
