Was wondering if anyone can give any feedback/advice/thoughts on what it’s like for a civilian GS scaled Physician working at one of these DHA Military Treatment Facilities?! How has your experience been on whether these positions are solid safe career choices or are you left out to slaughter sorta speak? Are you relatively immune in some ways from the BS that plagues the military?

Are they treated as equals, even though they are GS Physicians? Should civilian doctors stay away, ie they lure you in with attractive federal benefits etc but they leave you out to dry once you’re in lol? The future of military medicine and how this would impact the civilian GS doc working for the DoD?

Any help or thoughts on leaving civilian medicine for the world of DHA/MTF :)?!

“I’d say civilian GS providers are treated like equals with same expectations with exception of no deployments. They are crucial members of the team especially because military have to leave for deployments.”

Thank you for the follow up… much appreciated :).
