Cigna starting to reimburse 15% less for qz modifier with other insurance companies expected to follow suit… what’s everyone’s thoughts on this? Ultimately pretty good for our profession. Wonder if the rural hospitals allowing crna only care will make a shift. More crnas moving to plastics?

Some places will just take the loss and keep doing what they are doing. Others will stop billing QZ and instead bill under the anesthesiologist and the CRNA separately.
Places where there are no anesthesiologists may be more inclined to hire shadow anesthesiologists to sign the charts if the loss of revenue from losing that 15% is significant enough to justify hiring an anesthesiologist or two.

Anybody know how the Medical Supervision Modifier (AD) Now compares to QZ?

What’s the difference in reimbursement for direction vs supervision? Anything?

Supervision (AD) is horrendously bad compared to direction or QZ. That's why so many practices do QZ when there's still anesthesiologists present but they're just not meeting all the tefra steps .
