Clinical Associate/Research
Our clinical associate will triage patients, gather medical history, teach patients, teach another team member, renew prescriptions, return phone calls, relay instructions from the doctor to patients, and return more phone calls. In addition, the successful candidate will help to initiate, manage, and oversee research studies. They will ensure that Clinical Good Practice, Study Protocols, and our practice’s Standard Operating Procedures are executed accurately and in accordance with CGP, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements. The will interface with participants, ensuring a high quality of participant care and all due diligence associated with consent and study documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that documentation meets appropriate coding requirements.
  • Accompanies the physician into the patient examination area in order to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician.
  • Under the direction of the physician, transcribes patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
  • Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient’s private physician or the on-call physician.
  • Completes the patient's chart by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations.
  • Continuously checks on the progress of patient chart data in order to get the patient’s workup complete so that the physician can make his or her decisions regarding that patient.
  • Lists all proper diagnoses as well as any discharge/follow up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the physician.
  • Complies with all policies, established procedures, and regulations related to clinical research.
  • POTENTIAL TO BE MEDICALLY PUBLISHED
Requirements:
  • One to three years’ experience and knowledge of medical techniques and terminology preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or a related field preferred, or a combination of relevant research experience and education.
