Always wanted to be a Dentist, but Canada just seems to competitive needing a 90%+ to have a decent shot at my provincial school, and others don't accept many out-of-province. US schools are an option but $650K+ of debt is just too much.

Ireland, New Zealand and Australia dental programs are recognized in Canada, so those are options.

Does anyone here have any experience/advice regarding any of these schools?

What's competition like, what would be a good GPA to have a good chance at acceptance at an Australian school?

Whats the costs usually look like, Australian schools quote ~300k which doesn't seem too bad?

Any other information I should probably know?

Thanks guy, appreciate any advice.

What US Dental School is putting you $650K in debt? Highest priced schools (NYU and USC) are ~$410K.

You can find US Schools for $300K and less.

90k/yr tuition + 35k living expenses = 125k x 1.25 exchange rate (USD-CDN) x 4 yrs = 625k.

That's for NYU.

Well it’s pretty silly to factor in the $140K for living expenses and saying that’s a negative for the US Schools, considering you’ll have living expenses associated with every school.

That said, you have an easy decision. Go to the school that’s in a country with the best exchange rate so it’s the cheapest for you.

Then apply to smaller-citied US schools where your money will go further? 60 dental schools, you can find a dozen. And then apply to other schools in other countries if you have the funds to do it.
