I think A too much water in the stone for the cast....

too much water will decrease the setting expansion of the model, so in a kind of contracted model you will produce a casting that will not fit the mouth...

Hi, I am new for this forum. I just started doing these NDEB question.
It is confusing, but I think the answer is B, too less water in the stone for the cast.
The high expansion(W ratio is higher) causes the metal product become bigger.. but for the opposite if the less water means the metal will become smaller, so when we try the casting in the mouth, it would be too tight.
so my answer is B

Which of the following factors cud cause a casting to fit tighter in the mouth than on the cast?

A. too much h20 in mixing the stone for the cast
B. too little h20 in mixing the stone for the cast
C. duplication impression slightly oversized
D. improper waxup of the partial

ans wid explanation plz..thanx

I am sorry. After I checked info I think the answer is A. Because the higher the water/powder ratio of the investment wet mixture, the less hygroscopic setting expansion it will develop. So the casting is tighter if water ration is higher.

Simple TEXT format Canadian NDEB 2010 Released Exam

I believe that The biggest problem for discussion is that people don't know the location of the specific test item
or how to refer to it or them. Even if people are sharing the keys.
What I did was numbering all the test items to make things easy.

I work in a dental office as a manager and it should be entered as:
For tooth # 11 - Facial, Lingual, Mesial and Incisal
For tooth # 21 - Facial, Lingual, Mesial and Incisal

so it is two 4-surface restorations:)

Decks is OK but you must download and print you own package of the released questions because the exam had a lot of them. Decks will help you to recall concepts but questions is definitely a worth

leda, you can go to http://www.kilgoreinternational.com/xcart/product.php?productid=16234&cat=249&bestseller=Y , they will ship to you. There are some dental stores in Mississauga area where you can find them as well, either Kilgore or Frasaco. Where are you at?

For composite resin preparations, cavosurface enamel margins are bevelled bacause:
1- a bevelled margin produces a more favorable surface for etching
2- a bevelled margin improves the edge strength of a composite resin
3- after etching the bonding agent reduces microleakage
4- the procedure eliminates the need to polish the restoration

A- 1,2 and 3
B- 1 and 3
C- 2 and 4
D- 4 only
E- all of the above

is it A or B???
I found literature confirming 1.
I could not find anything about 2.
