Canada/U.S. Elective time for Irish GEMS

How many weeks do each of the Irish schools with graduate entry medicine programs allow for electives in Canada/U.S.? Are they only during the summer/Christmas break, or can you do some during the rest of the year?

How many weeks do each of the Irish schools with graduate entry medicine programs allow for electives in Canada/U.S.? Are they only during the summer/Christmas break, or can you do some during the rest of the year?

RCSI GEM program has 14 weeks all in the summer break after finishing 3 year exams. It is subject to change however, the year before me had an extra 2 weeks for example. I believe UCD has 10 weeks in the summer and there have been people in past years who have managed to pull off a 2 week elective during one of the winter breaks but, I don't think that was the norm. I can't speak for the other schools. Hope that helps!
