We are seeking enthusiastic candidates for the Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry Fellowship at Yale School of Medicine for the 2020-2021 academic year. Candidates must have completed an ACGME accredited residency in psychiatry or neurology by the time of matriculation July 1st, 2020. This is a 1-year UCNS accredited fellowship that offers a rich variety of clinical and, if interested, research experience. The fellow will train with a broad array of clinician-scientists passionate about education, e.g. behavioral neurologists, movement disorder specialists, neuropsychiatrists, and neuropsychologists. By the conclusion of fellowship, the trainee will have the skills necessary to diagnose and manage core neuropsychiatric disorders, including typical and atypical presentations of Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body diseases, frontotemporal dementias, primary progressive aphasia, posterior cortical atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration, vascular cognitive impairment, traumatic brain injury, neuropsychiatric features of epilepsy, psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES), in addition to other neurobehavioral syndromes. Fellows will learn the appropriate use and interpretation of neuroimaging in the evaluation of neuropsychiatric disorders, including CT, MRI, amyloid PET, FDG-PET, and DaT-SPECT, as well as the role of CSF biomarkers. Fellowship includes a weekly journal club to discuss both the fundamentals of the field and cutting-edge developments. Elective time exists for protected research and possibly opportunities in interventional neuromodulation.
